Creative Balance started with a question we kept coming back to: does creative liberty actually exist? Every project has its limits. A brief, a deadline, a brand. Some limits come from outside, and some we put there ourselves.
Gallery Noir and New Balance decided to put that to the test. Four artists, Rocío Aguirre, Souloner, Adriandglez and Soaptwo, were each given the same brief: three pairs of sneakers. The rest was up to them.
The result is a 109-page photo book with a chapter for each artist. Rocío shot a diary of her summer. Souloner photographed the sneakers inside his 90s restoration car. Adrián stripped everything back to natural materials and light. Soaptwo went straight to the material: surface, texture and contrast. Four very different answers to the same starting point, but all part of one conversation.
